What participants will learn: Whether you’re an experienced driver, assuming new driving responsibilities, or simply commuting to and from work, this Course will provide you with safe driving knowledge and collision prevention strategies that focus on behavior, judgment, decision making and consequences. Offering fact-based data, this course will help influence learners to make positive choices to improve driving behaviors and attitudes and encourage respectful and lawful decisions to avoid collisions and decrease traffic violations. Focusing behavior-modification strategies and techniques the course now includes greater emphasis on: ‣ Distracted, fatigued and impaired driving ‣ Substance impairment ‣ Sharing the road ‣ Habits of defensive driving ‣ Vehicle technology and safety features ‣ Personal driving behaviors and risk-taking tendencies ‣ Hazard identification and risk- assessment challenges ‣ Scenario-based training ‣ Application of knowledge and skills testing ‣ Personal plan for making effective driving choices Our most comprehensive defensive driving curriculum. This 8-hour, highly interactive classroom course provides the highest level of defensive driving knowledge and skills, the benefits of being a safe and responsible driver and the techniques for avoiding high-risk driving behaviors. Throughout the course, hazard recognition scenarios and the skills needed for dealing with immediate danger and anticipating potential hazards are the principal learning points. This course accepted by the SCDMV for point reduction. Certificate can be used for insurance premium discount (where offered by your insurance company).
