Alive at 25, a 4-hour instructor-led classroom course, shows young drivers ages 15 to 24 how to take greater responsibility for their driving behavior. Alive at 25 also serves as an excellent complement to standard driver education programs. Whereas driver education teaches the mechanics of car, road handling and state laws, Alive at 25 focuses on behavior, judgment, decision making, consequences and making positive choices. Available in English and Spanish. Only NSC Alive at 25 certified instructors may teach Alive at 25. About the Instructor Course The National Safety Council trains instructors to teach Alive at 25 through our 2 or 2-1/2 day Instructor Course. During the Instructor Course you’ll gain the confidence and knowledge to become an effective instructor. This course provides both the technical information you will need to teach Alive at 25 as well as effective facilitation methods and presentation techniques. Our instructor trainers will show candidate instructors how to determine the needs of the audience, improve classroom participation and interaction, handle objections, and use activities effectively. About This Course:
This course covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as construction industry safety and health principles. A copy of the 29 CFR 1926 Construction Industry Standards is included with the registration fee. Participants must successfully pass a written exam at the end of the course.

For those interested in becoming authorized to teach 10hr and 30hr OSHA Outreach classes, the OSHA #510 course meets one of two prerequisites for the OSHA #500 Trainer Course for the Construction Industry. Please note, the 30-hour Construction Industry OSHA outreach class is not considered equivalent to OSHA #510.

Temporary Traffic Control in Highway Work Zones - Design and Supervision is a new two-day program that prepares work zone supervisors to interpret, adapt, and implement Traffic Control Plans. It focuses on specific job responsibilities and covers information in parts I, V, and VI of the Federal Highway Administration's Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). You can trust the content. Temporary Traffic Control is based on the most current federal regulations, and reviewed by the leading industry experts. It's based on real-world situations. Experienced instructors lead students through problem-solving exercises, using the MUTCD and state guidelines. It's flexible. You can include state and local regulations as well as federal guidelines. It's easy to get started. There are no expensive, time-consuming prerequisite courses required. Temporary Traffic Control is for workers responsible for: Establishing and maintaining traffic control devices in or near vehicle right-of-way Keeping workers safe while in or near vehicle right-of-way Installing signs and warning devices Controlling traffic flow in construction, maintenance, or utility work zones Anyone with at least one year of documented experience in work zone traffic control can attend.
