SCNSC Welcomes Todd Buehrig as its Next Executive Director
January 23, 2018—The Southeastern Chapter National Safety Council (SCNSC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Todd Buehrig as Executive Director. Todd has led SCNSC’s growth and expansion in South Carolina and Georgia since his appointment as Director of Advancement for the organization in 2016.
“Todd has been an influential guiding force for development and expansion for our organization,” said Laura Comstock, President of the Board of Directors. “He has a commitment to SCNSC’s core values; and a capacity to strategically guide the organization forward. We are thrilled with the results he has produced, and we are confident he will continue to lead the organization in a direction that will help us achieve our mission of eliminating preventable injuries, death and loss across in communities across the southeast.”
Todd’s promotion comes as the organization implements a new plan of strategic growth in membership, safety courses and community outreach initiatives. With significant experience in fundraising, non-profit management and community involvement, Todd’s background uniquely positions him to assume the post as Executive Director and to advance the organization’s 2027 Vision Plan.
“I am honored and thankful to the SCNSC Board, staff, and our membership for their support and trust in me over these last few years. The Council is poised for significant growth in the coming years and I could not be prouder to help shepherd our meaningful work here at the Council,” said Todd Buehrig.
Todd joins the Council after a long career in non-profit leadership fundraising in the Midlands region. He previously served in leadership roles as Director of Development at Healthy Learners, a Ministry of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustin and as Assistant Director of Development at the Columbia Museum of Art. Todd earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Francis Marion University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina. He is a current Board Member of the Greater Irmo Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Midlands Chapter.
