SCNSC is pleased to offer Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED Certification in partnership with the SC Department of Social Services. All statewide classes are free for childcare providers enrolled in ABC Quality. Click the links below to find a class near you.
The full class is a 7-hour training for first-time certification. After completing the initial certification, the Recertification course is required every 2 years to maintain certification.
The recertification class is a 3.5-hour refresher course, required every 2 years to maintain NSC certification. In order to take a recertification class, you must have completed the initial 7-hour full class with the National Safety Council.
Please note: If you currently hold a certification through another organization like American Heart Association or American Red Cross, you are NOT eligible to take the NSC Recertification. You must have completed your initial certification with the National Safety Council in order to take the 4 hour recertification course.
The 3-day Instructor Development Course will train your staff member to become a Certified Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED Instructor, which will allow them to train staff at your facility or other child care facilities. Instructors are provided with the CPR equipment needed to train and certify students. Individuals must be directors, assistant directors or staff leaders who intend to stay in their role for an extended period of time. Please contact Barbara Novinbakht at (800) 733-6185 before registering.
